Equal pay for equal work(SLJ teaser week)

In my opinion I personally think they both deserve the same amount of money and support for many reasons. The Black Ferns - New Zealand women team - have far more power and influence in 15-aside rugby than the men. They have already won five World Cups compared to the All Blacks' three', but they lag far behind in both profile and pay. They are barely recognized because the media intentionally decides to not televise or show any of their games and interviews. Which I find very very biased, if you feel just as bad it could help if you too support The Black Ferns. Thank you :))

Teaser for Summer Learning Journey #1

Today was the start of teasers for the Summer Learning Journey. Our task today was to create an infographic based on Lorde. I personally enjoyed this task because I let my creativity run wild. Overall it was pretty easy and very fun.

Evaluation For My Project - Technology Wood

*Very Long Blog Post*

Question 1: How well did I do in completing all of the things that I needed to do for this project?
 Answer: Not trying to complement myself, but I would have to say I did pretty well. I did well with the visuals, but I can't say that about the measurements. I did as best as I could but it could have been better. It is something I can continue to work on. Overall I think I did okay :))

Question 2: The design ideas? And Final Choice? 

Answer: So before we handle wood, we needed at least 8 possible ideas to choose from. I couldn't bother(which is wrong) to even have 8 design ideas, but I still managed to get 5. After 2-3 weeks, it was time to choose a design, I then went ahead and choose a piano for a gift.

Question 3: The Working Drawing? 

Answer: So after I chose my design, I needed to create a working drawing. Why? It's to show that it is possible and I have a plan before I start. So considering a piano was a well known design chosen amongst students, there was already a design working on the wall. So I copied that and my Working Drawing was done. The Process Of My Design  

Question 4: The Marking Out?

Answer: I used a ruler and pencil to mark out the lines. The whole point of this process is basically to create a joint as it was a main focus of making our project. Our next step is to saw, so marking out the lines is a guidance to saw as in cut straight.

Question 5: The Sawing?

Answer: Like I stated in the previous paragraph, sawing is needed. The whole point of the lines is to saw correctly and straight. It is very important to saw correctly as it is a danger hazard to be swinging it around. It is also very important to saw straight as you want your joint to be strong and stable. Sawing also makes your chiselling life easier 

Question 6: The Chiselling? 

Answer: As I link from paragraph to paragraph, YES it is true sawing helps you to chisel the wood. How? After marking out the lines and sawing them, it basically is the road to start chiseling out. A proper way to chisel is by taking little hits with a wooden mullet(tool) or a little and rough push at the end of a chisel. A tip: Also if you are chiselling, do not chisel down it could ruin your entire wood/work

Question 7: The Assembly? 

Answer: The Process Of My Design │After doing the first few steps, I needed all my parts to then assemble it - as in project. So after all of these steps, I have two chiseled out joints, and a piece of wood that should come out of 320 cm of wood. Now to assemble, you put the piece of wood horizontally in between the two chiseled joints, when completed glue is needed to hold the wood together. It is then needed to dry

Question 8: Looking At What I Have Produced? Does It Work? Does It Look Good?

After completing all these steps, my project turned out fine just my measurements were not really the best. It does work, for its purpose. It is supposed to be a piano with a box inside it to hold little objects. It looks pretty good by itself, but if I keep working on its visuals it would look even better and more attractive 

Question 9: If I could/were?

If I could redo the project it would be to pay more attention and focus. My project turned out well but my measurements are something I can work on by far. They were a little bit off, and crooked :) If I could change something about it? Like I said for the billionth time it would be the measurements, and to draw/cut the lines more straight.

This morning I completed a daily test of "Mental Math ". This site is suppose to time us on how well we can answer questions based on speed.

Today as a for maths I played Khan Academy.  Khan Academy is a educational site that help people or students improve in their learning areas. My teacher assigns task for each group, so by finishing it another task is done. Highly recommended to sign up to this site :)

The Process For My Design (Technology Wood)

*As I continue to work on my project steps will be updated daily* 

Tools that were needed:

Steel rule

Tri-square

Mallet

Marking gauge

Wood chisel

Claw hammer

Backed saw

Bench hook

The Process :

Step 1: I used a ruler and pencil to make a full size working drawing of my project because it shows that -my project is possible. 

Step 2: I used a ruler and pencil to copy measurements from my drawing onto the wood

Step 3: I marked a square line at (90°) across and down the sides using a tri-square 

Step 4: I cut off the first piece of wood using a backed saw

Step 5: I then marked out the joint using a ruler

Step 6:I then used a chisel, and chiseled the access wood out 

Step 7:  Considering my project was a piano I must repeat these entire steps on another piece of wood that is also 160°

Step 8: I should then ask for another wood that measures 160 °for the middle

Step 9: My project turned out to be loose, so glue and elastic rubber bands was needed to hold my project together as it dried

Step 10: After letting it set, a wood used as a backboard for the piano was added, I am now waiting for the glue to dry

Step 11: My technology teacher, now then cut another thin piece of wood. Its purpose is to create a box with my project, so it has a purpose, and that is to hold little items

Step 12: I then lined out the piano keys with a thin piece of wood and a black marker. This is for the piano keys

Step 13: I then needed a lid. I walked back a forth with my Wood Tech teacher to create a "lid" for the box/piano. Like I stated the object needs a purpose :)  

Step 14: I have 1-2 weeks left to complete my project which I would I have to say is nearly done, I don't really know, but I guess I only need to continuing to make it look really good. 

Word Whiz

Today as a task for reading, we had to find words we didn't understand or know, we also had to write the definition, sunomes and a sentence with the word. I felt like this was a fun way to learn and improve in our vocab. I also didn't quite finish yet :)

New Vocab DLO

Today I created a DLO based off new words/vocab we learn in class. We recently had  mystery solving so as a different task Miss D asked us to create a DLO for it. As usual we had to find a definition, and use it in a sentence. I understood all these words but had to consider that these will be best used in test or writing in general.

Today I created a DLO with a couple of friends. As reading we had mystery solving, it was my favorite task and I indeed had fun. It was really fun to detect and read carefully between the lines. What I had fun with the most was working with friends. If I had to improve it would to be trying more advance text or problems. Overall this was great fun :)

Today in class we had to work collaboratively meaning in groups. I was in a group with 3 good friends of mines, and solved all together. It was great fun considering we could suspect who did the crime. After That we created a DLO, with all 4 suspects to decide whether they were innocent or not. The entire reason of the crime was the sneaky butler. I found this task very easy and fun. If I could improve it would to move on and try more difficult mysteries.

Technology Class/ Wood

In wood technology, one of our tasks are to choose a design. As a design I chose a piano, because it would be considered for many things such as a gift, to store stuff, and for inspiration. To make my design I need to note that it should be or have correct measurements, also look good.

Today my friend(Glaysia)and I created a DLO based off our science topic. Our topic was about what was in our blood, which was very fun. We found out that blood also carries red blood cells, white blood cells, plasma and platelets. After learning so much we had to create DLO to show what we have learning for the past 4 weeks.

I completed playing a game based off Equivalent Ratios, and I found it easy. Why did I find it easy? I found a task like this easy because we(group 1) has already learnt this strategy in the past. I also found this task easy because I have experienced playing.

Sewing Class 2019 Last Day!!!!

Today, as our last day my class cooked. We finished all our cushions in time, so as a reward we got to cook. My class could work on listening, because they didn't today. As a wrap up of sewing class I finished a Evaluation, Or Reflection on what I have been doing in this class for the past 1 month and 2 weeks. Thank You Mrs. Tuipulotu

Today, I tried out a very educational site. This site is basically where you sign up or login and choose your year level. You also get to choose what you would like to improve or learn about. I really enjoy this site because it is trying to help, yet also give very motivation sayings. I found this task very easy and fun because it gives a walkthrough to the questions you are not familiar with.

As task I tried out a game, based off Equivalent Ratios which in a case I found easy. I found this task easy because we have recently learning about equivalent fractions. If I could improve I would press the timed mode for a challenge.

Today in class, our topic was science. Finishing off task, I created a DLO to show difference and similarities with Celebes Crested Macaque(Apes), and Homo Sapien(Humans). A fun fact I learned was Apes are 90% identical to Humans.

Probability Fair ~

So I played this game, that was about probability. For example there will be a wheel to spin and you guess what colour it will land on. In this picture it shows that I earned tickets because I guess the probability right. If you are trying to improve in probability, I highly suggest this fun and education site.

Today, as a task I went on Khan Academy, known as a great site to improve in all your learning areas. So I took a different route and went to learn more about angles. I found these questions easy because I am familiar with angles, and they are pretty basic questions.

Adding and Subtractions Fractions

Recently adding and subtracting fractions is what we have been learning, so I found this task very easy. One tip for adding & subbing fractions is to make sure your denominator is the same. If I could improve it would to find harder questions or time myself.

Another task like this that has been completed. I found this task so fun easy and cool. Very easy because I knew what to do, and has had experience. Fun and cool because these questions don't take much of my time. 

Sewing Class 2019 2nd To Last Class

As our second to last class in Sewing, I would really like to say thank you to my Sewing class Teacher. So we finally sewed our cushions and it has turned out very nice. If I could improve it would be for me, to try stay steady and take charge, and to also be exact with my measurements. With my current progress I think I did very well. This morning my group learnt how to add fractions, not that we forgot. So I learnt that the denominator must be equal, if it isn't you should times the denomination on both fractions together.  Then you add, if your fraction is improper round it, to a whole. After you finalize your answer try to simplify it, for the best results.

So this is a new site recently known by my class. This site is a site where you basically sign up and pick your year level. After that you pick what you want to learn, if you would be like me I chose as much as I could which was the maximum of 9 strategies. Any I found this task very fun, interesting and easy. I really didn't understand what a line segment was yet till I search. After researching I got the correct answer. If you are willing to improve I highly suggest Khan Academy

As a task, I had a try at probability fair in which case I had a very good experience. I found this task fun because if you get an answer correct you get tickets for the fair. If you are learning probability I highly recommend this site.

Today, for trying to complete task, my task was Mental Math. I found task like this challenging especially because you are being timed. I also was expected to choose expert or advance level. If I could improve it would to be think or work a little faster.

Sewing Class 2019

Again another day in sewing class we practiced running zig zags lines. In Term 2, week 1 we will be running our cushion. After so much practice I think and hope we will be fine to sew our cushions. Today I found this task easy, because I  have practiced for so many weeks.

Training Your Brain~

Today as a task we are expected to do everyday, I finished another Train Your Brain question. So I did alot of working out to check if there was any other answer turned out the answer was 3 hours and 45 minutes. I found this tasks question challenging or difficult because I couldn't quite understand, yet finished in the end.

Today as our usual Friday morning we had Collaborative Problem Solving. Its a Friday morning where we basically split up in to groups and solve problems together. As a task I did a Substitution grid. I really enjoy tasks like these because they are very fun and very helpful. I found a task like this very easy because I have had experience doing a Substitution grids in the past.

I found or identified the answer by reading and understanding very carefully. I highly suggest using Brilliant Math, if you want to strive to be the best you can be in learning or logic this is the site.

Training Your Brain~

So as a tasks I did Train My Brain. I picked this problem because I found it very interesting. So how I figured out my answer, I sort it out as a table basically. The problem read that Tom starts spending $2 starting from Monday, yet Tia earns $2.50 starting from Monday as well. The problem reads how long will it be before Tia will have more money than Tom. Using my strategy she has more money by Friday.

To start off our morning here in Room 6, I tried this new site. This site contains questions and practice based off probability. In group 1 our topic has been based of probability if you haven't known yet. In this picture the question is asking what is the probability for the factor of 6. My answer again was 2/3 which turned out to be correct.

Today in class my group and I were playing a game based probability. In this task I had to solve the probability of the fractions given based off the problem.  For example~ so 4/10 would be a poor chance, yet still a chance. It is 4 out of 10 which is lower than 5, again half of 10.

Free Rice, again as I speak or say. If you want to improve on your vocabulary, times tables and many more Free Rice is a great site for you. I have been using this site for a very long time and for me to say it helps to improve. For every right answer you get 10 grams of Rice gets donated to stop World Hunger. This site is killing 2 birds with one stone(not legit), what I mean is you learn, yet also help the Hungry People around the world.

Figurative Language is known to be taught in our class. As a year 7 and 8 class we are expected to improve in all learning areas. This site helps you practice Figurative Language such as Idioms. Tasks like these were not really hard, all it took was concentration and listening.

Today is known to be Week 8 for us. In tech class, my group and I had 10 mins each at first to get what we could done, by all means sewing. I found this task very easy and fun due to me putting 100% effort. If I could find something for my class to improve on will be to have correct attitude and behavior.  Thank You👍

Today, I had a try at a site called Mental Math. I was told to play level advance, so I found it a little bit difficult. I also found it difficult because you were being timed, so I was to pressured. I could improve by thinking and taking my time a bit.

Today, as another task I had a try at brilliant maths again. Brilliant Maths is a site where you can improve in any learning areas. I try logic questions, because I know I can try improve. I found this loic question very easy, all I had to do was read and understand properly. I highly recommend this site if you want to improve your learning.
