To start to make butter you need to have a container or bowl and add some water and also it’s up to you to choose what you like to make it in. In the olden days they used churns , but it is totally up to you if you like to use a egg beater. Next you must add cream into the container or bowl you used and wait for a few minutes till the cream rises above the water. After that you must use a sieve to scoop all the cream that has rises on top the water. Then you must put the cream that you scooped out into another container. After that you put on a lid and churn it for about 40 minutes. After that you must see leftover liquid in there called buttermilk so you also must use a net to put over the container and drain out the buttermilk, if you do not drain the buttermilk the butter is sure to go bad. After that add some water and rinse it out and do it again 6 times. Thereafter you should swipe it out and let it sit on a board, but make sure it is wet. Then get two wooden spoons and shape it up to what it should look like round and a bit flat. For Example

Old school vs Modern school

Old school vs Modern school

After visiting the Howick Historical Village, you would have a good idea of what life was like in an old school classroom. Compare that kind of environment with the modern learning that you experience today. Talk about the positive and negative.20170627_123438.jpg

Olden days people could only use what they have so they used wood because that was the most common thing around them. Nowadays everything is made with anything, but mostly plastic. In my opinion I would rather enjoy my life in the modern schools because everything is much better. I would not like to live in the olden days because everything is so cold and you would get 6 of the best from the cane if you were caught talking, stealing or coming late to school. You would also get 6 of the best from the cane if you were also caught writing with your left hand whereas nowadays you are allowed to right with your left and right. Once again I hate Olden Days school also because my 2 of my friends are left handed and I will feel hurt if they got 6 of the best. Would you like to join in a modern school or old school?

Queen's Birthday Weekend

On Monday the 5th of June 2017 my family and I enjoyed valuable time and a good picnic at Glendowie park to make good memories for my nana.

At first my mum had to wake up at 8:30 to drop of my siblings because they having an annual festival that was going on for 3 days. While we finished cleaning we got ready and watched tv patiently as we were waiting for our mum. As she parked outside we could hear her so we dashed out the door and waited in the car until my nana came in. My nana often stayed around the house so we took her places she has never been. First of all we took her up Mount Wellington. She was so surprised and amazed as she saw the beautiful view. While going down we saw cows, so my mum allowed us to take some pictures with the cows. Then we headed of to the Takeaway shop and ordered lunch. As we were waiting we went to the store and bought some juice. Then we went back to the shop and waited till our lunch was finished. After a while it was done, so we said, “thank you” to the man and hopped in the car. We didn’t have a clue where we were going so we just looked around and sang to the music. Then we arrived at Glendowie park. We ate our lunch there, then we had a fun play on the park. After 10 minutes we hopped back in the car and drove back home. As we returned home we plug the HDMI wire into my sisters netbook and we played different kinds of games on the big screen. Thereafter we also did Just Dance on the big screen and danced.Meanwhile we fell asleep because we had a brilliant day.

In conclusion I have a great feeling that my nena had a great experience and time also visiting the ducks at the Duck Pond.Image result for duck pond auckland NZ

Kupe Finds Aotearoa

Name:Mafi
Date:19/06/17
Title:Kupe finds Aotearoa(New Zealand)

1. Kupe was a caring chief who lived in Hawaiki. On the island there was a lot of lack in the resources and food, so Kupe and all the men that lived on the tiny island set out in the seas to catch some food for their family and their people on their island. One day they were trying to catch some fish, but suddenly the bait to catch the fish got stolen by a wheke (a octopus). The wheke was so vicious it ate all their bait and they had no bait to catch some more food for their village or island. Kupe realised that an old chief Muturangi had a wheke so he sailed to the island across where Muturangi lived.“Muturangi you must keep your octopus under control” Kupe yelled. “I tried and tried , but it won’t listen”  replied Muturangi. Kupe felt like nothing happen so he sailed back to his island. Kupe thought and thought and thought, but it came to the day that he realised that it was time to kill the wheke because every time they set out to catch some food their bait always seemed to be stolen by that cheeky wheke.

2. The giant wheke was afraid so it started to dash through the great oceans and seas. Kupe looked straight ahead and started to sail. On his long taking adventure Kupe kept on chasing the cheeky wheke until he killed it. Day after day Kupe kept on chasing the wheke, but then suddenly Kupe caught the cheeky wheke and killed it. After he killed it Kupe discovered a new island and he named it Aotearoa the long white cloud. Kupe was so excited so he went back to his island Hawaiki and explained how he found Aotearoa and manage to kill the wheke. Everybody at the island packed their stuff and they all got gifts from the people. The people that was going to sail in the 7 waka named Aotea, Tainui ,Te Arawa, Tokomaru, Kurahaupo, Takitimu, Mataatua. When they saw New Zealand they had a feeling that their was nobody living on New Zealand. As they reached Aotearoa they all separated into different ways. Some went to the East some went to the West Coast with their families. They miss everybody they came with ,but they all realized they were in the same country. Where ever they were they used and planted all the gifts that were given.  After a few decades other countries wanted what New Zealand had and the New Zealanders wanted what other countries had.

3.Then as time slowly came by more people from other countries started to live in (Aotearoa). Nowadays I really enjoy learning the great history of Kupe And The Giant Wheke, and I look up to Kupe to be just like him brave and have the courage to do something powerful one day. I also hope one day all the wars between every single country will stop and hope everybody lives in peace.
