Activity #1
On your blog, tell us what you think about this rule and why you think it.
In my opinion I suppose there are 2 sides of the story. Firstly I believe that this should be allowed, because here in New Zealand we do have native fish. This topic is also like log hunting, how log hunting is hurting our native birds. Anyway we need to keep our native fish alive due to it being less popular, and it could attract tourist. On the other hand I find this fine idea not supported. People are fishermen doing their jobs trying to earn money for there families. How are fisherman suppose know how many fish to catch. I think the money fine is too high, lower it down to 15,000. Summarizing all up I suppose, yeah it's fair to pay the price, if they know they were overfishing, and lower the price.

Hey Mafi
ReplyDeleteYou raise some very interesting points regarding fishing restrictions. $100000 is a lot of money but I guess we need to do what we can to deter companies over fishing however, I also don't think it's fair we charge fishermen just for supporting their families. Would you be happy if the fine went to the company and not the individuals?
You have listed really good ways to protect the Great Barrier Reef. Can you think of ways to fundraise (make money) to help pay for the work needed to save the Great Barrier Reef?
I look forward to your reply.
