SLJ( Week 1 Day 4 Activity 2) 2018-2019

What to do: For this activity you are asked to choose one of your favourite foods. On your bog, write the name of your favourite food and then tell us how to make it. You may need to ask a family member, friend or google(!) for help, if you don't normally make this food yourself.

My Uncle's Steamed Hangi

Ingredients~
Meats: Pork, Chicken and Beef
Vegetables: Pumpkin, Potato, Kumara, and Cabbage

Directions~Firstly we peel and thoroughly wash the veggies, do exactly the same to the meat. Then place them in two separate bowls and cover. Grab the bowl with the meat, and cut it up, bitesize wise, also season the meat. Next we prepare the foil package to wrap up all the meats and veggies, ready to be cooked. Wait for 3-4 hours to cook and you are ready to enjoy.

    I'm feeling really hungry after reading about your Uncle's steamed hangi. I love hangi, I've even helped make a few before in the ground. It's hard work digging, and hot! What is your favourite meat to have in hangi?
